Frankfort is the capital city of the state of Kentucky

Frankfort is located in the central part of the state of Kentucky, on the banks of the Kentucky River.  In the 1780's, Stephen Frank was killed in an attack by native Americans at a ford in the Kentucky River and the settlers thereafter called the crossing "Frank's Ford". This name was later changed to Frankfort.  Buffalo Trace Distillery was built in Frankfort in 1792. Under its old name, George T. Stagg Distillery, the property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated a National Historic Landmark.

I visited Frankfort on 11/13/2016. While there, I drove through the downtown area and then visited the Buffalo Trace Distillery.
