Greenville is a city located in the Upstate region of South Carolina.

Richard Pearis arrived in South Carolina around 1754, established relations with the Cherokee and received about 100,000 acres from the Cherokee around 1770. The land changed hands several times.  It was originally named Pleasantburg. In 1831, Pleasantburg was incorporated as Greenville. 

We visited Greenville on 10/21/2017 and enjoyed walking through the downtown area and Falls Park on the Reedy.

Greenville has been recognized as one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States, as well as one of the best places to live, work, and play. Some notable features of Greenville include Falls Park on the Reedy, a picturesque park located in the heart of downtown that is home to a waterfall and a pedestrian bridge; the Greenville Zoo, which is home to a variety of exotic animals; and the Peace Center for the Performing Arts, which hosts a wide variety of cultural events and performances.
