What to see and do in Carcross, Yukon, Canada

Carcross is located in the Yukon territory of Canada on the shores of Nares Lake and is surrounded by scenic mountains

Carcross is a small town which is known for its natural beauty and unique history.  It is a popular tourist destination for outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, and boating.

Upon entering the Yukon on 5/14/2019, we traveled to the Carcross Desert, Emerald Lake, Caribou Crossing and the town of Carcross.

Carcross is also an important cultural center for the First Nations people of the area, particularly the Carcross/Tagish First Nation, who have lived in the region for thousands of years. The town is home to several cultural and historical sites, including the Carcross/Tagish First Nation Heritage Centre, which showcases the rich history and cultural traditions of the First Nations people.
