Juneau is the capital city of the state of Alaska, located in the southeastern part of the state.

On 5/13/2019, we arrived by cruise ship and took a seaplane tour of five glaciers. From the Alaska Brewing visitor center we took a bus trip to the brewery which is located a few miles north of town. Afterwards, we walked the downtown area and visited the Devil's Club and Barnaby Brewing Company.

Juneau was founded during a gold rush in the late 19th century and was named after gold prospector Joe Juneau. Today, the city is known for its natural beauty, with its proximity to the Mendenhall Glacier and the Tongass National Forest. It is also a popular destination for outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, and whale watching.

The city has a thriving tourism industry and is home to many government agencies, including the Alaska State Capitol and the Governor's mansion.
