Chicago, often called the "Windy City", is located on the shore of Lake Michigan in Illinois

It is is among the largest cities in the U.S. Chicago is known for its architecture, particularly the skyscrapers that dominate its skyline which includes the John Hancock Center, 1,451 ft. Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower) and the neo-Gothic Tribune Tower. The city has been home to many influential architects, including Louis Sullivan and Frank Lloyd Wright.

We have visited Chicago numerous times including 7/2/2012 and 9/14/2019 and there is much to see in the downtown area. 

Chicago was incorporated as a city in 1837 near a portage between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River. Chicago is also famous for its food, particularly its deep-dish pizza, hot dogs, and Italian beef sandwiches. The city has a vibrant cultural scene, with world-renowned museums such as the Art Institute of Chicago and the Field Museum, as well as a thriving theater and music scene. The city is home to many sports teams, including the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox (baseball), Chicago Bears (football), Chicago Bulls (basketball), and Chicago Blackhawks (hockey).

Chicago has a rich history, including its role as a major transportation and manufacturing hub in the 19th and 20th centuries. The city has also been the site of several important events, such as the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition.
