What to see and do in Nashville, Tennessee

Nashville is the capital of the state of Tennessee and is known as "Music City"

The city was founded in 1779 and named for Francis Nash, a general of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War.  Today, it is a major center for the music industry, especially country music and it is commonly known as "Music City".

We have visited Nashville several times. The last time were there was 6/30/2014, when we spent several days downtown.

Nashville is  is known for its vibrant music scene, historical landmarks, and diverse culture. One of Nashville's most famous attractions is the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, which celebrates the history of country music and the musicians who have made it famous. The Grand Ole Opry, a weekly country music concert that has been broadcast on the radio since 1925, is also located in Nashville.

In addition to its music scene, Nashville is also home to several historic landmarks, including the Tennessee State Capitol, the Ryman Auditorium, and the Belle Meade Plantation. The city is also known for its parks and green spaces, including Centennial Park, which features a replica of the Parthenon in Athens, Greece.

Overall, Nashville is a lively and dynamic city with a rich cultural history and plenty of attractions for visitors and locals alike.
