What to see and do in Portland, Oregon

Portland, Oregon is located in the Pacific Northwest at the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers. 

The snow-capped Mount Hood is nearby. It’s known for its parks, bridges, bicycle paths, microbreweries and coffeehouses. Washington Park contains a formal Japanese Garden, the Oregon Zoo and its railway. 

We visited Portland on 2/15/2007 and walked the downtown area of the city.

Portland is known for its vibrant culture, scenic natural beauty, and commitment to sustainability. The city is home to numerous parks, including Forest Park, the largest urban forest in the United States. The city is also home to a number of unique neighborhoods, each with their own distinct personality and attractions. For example, the Pearl District is known for its trendy boutiques and art galleries, while the Alberta Arts District is famous for its vibrant street art and live music scene.

Portland is also known for its thriving food and drink scene, with an abundance of craft breweries, coffee shops, and food carts. Additionally, Portland is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts, offering easy access to hiking, skiing, and other recreational activities.
