What to see and do at the Tierra del Fuego National Park, Argentina
Tierra del Fuego National Park is at the southern tip of the Andes Mountains and extends to the Beagle Channel in Argentina
Tierra del Fuego National Park is at the southwestern tip of the Argentine section of the Big Island of Tierra del Fuego, about 7 miles west of the city of Ushuaia. It protects a portion of the southern tip of the Andes Mountains and extends to the coast of the Beagle Channel in the south. In summer, about a thousand people a day visit the national park.
We visited the Tierra del Fuego National Park by bus from Ushuaia on 1/27/2024. While there, we visited the southern end of the Pan American Highway, the southernmost post office in the world, Port Arias, Lapataia Bay, the visitor center and Lago Acicami which is a glacial lake on the border between Argentina and Chile.

The "End of the World Train" is used by tourists to travel from the End of the World station, 5 miles west of Ushuaia to the Tierra del Fuego National Park. It is the final part of the rail line that in the past linked the prison of Ushuaia with the labor camps located in what is now the park.

Lago Acicami is a glacial lake on the border between Argentina and Chile. On the Chilean side of the border it is called Lago Roca.
