New York City (NYC) is known for it's world's most famous landmarks

New York City (NYC) is the most populous city in the United States, with over 8 million people living within its boundaries. The first visit into New York Harbor by a European was in 1524 by Giovanni da Verrazzano and he claimed the area for France.   Henry Hudson later claimed the region for the Dutch East India Company in 1609. In 1625, construction was started in lower Manhattan on a Fort Amsterdam and the area was named New Amsterdam. In 1664, English troops captured the city and renamed it New York.  

We have visited New York City many times between 7/4/2005 and 12/05/2018.

New York City is made up of five boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island. Each borough has its own distinct character, and together they make up one of the most diverse and dynamic cities in the world.

New York City is a global center for finance, media, art, fashion, and entertainment. It is home to some of the world's most famous landmarks, including the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Times Square, and the Empire State Building. The city is also famous for its vibrant cultural scene, with world-class museums, theaters, galleries, and music venues. Some of the city's most famous cultural institutions include the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Broadway theater district, and Carnegie Hall.

Overall, New York City is a fascinating and exciting place to visit or live in, offering a unique blend of history, culture, and innovation that is hard to find anywhere else in the world.
