What to see and do in Frankfurt, Germany

Frankfurt am Main, commonly known as Frankfurt, is a city in central Germany and the largest financial center in continental Europe.

It is located in the state of Hesse and is considered one of the most important cities in the European Union.

We were in Frankfurt on 9/29/2018.  We wanted to spend more time here.  But didn't have a long enough layover.  We are planning another trip to Germany in the future.

Frankfurt is a major hub for transportation, with the Frankfurt Airport being one of the busiest airports in the world and the Frankfurt Central Station being a major railway hub for Germany and Europe.

In addition to being a major financial center, Frankfurt is also known for its rich cultural heritage and vibrant nightlife. It is home to several museums and galleries, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Städel Museum, and the German Film Museum. The city is also famous for its shopping, with the Zeil, one of the busiest shopping streets in Germany.

Another landmark of the city is the towering skyscrapers in the central business district, referred to as the "Mainhattan". The city is also home to several major trade fairs and events, including the Frankfurt Book Fair, the Frankfurt Auto Show, and the Frankfurt Music Fair.

Overall, Frankfurt is a diverse and cosmopolitan city, with a rich history, thriving economy, and a rich cultural scene, making it one of the most important cities in Germany and Europe.
