The town’s massive stone terraces rise dramatically along the mountainside, forming one of the most impressive examples of Inca engineering. Each stone was precisely cut and fitted together without mortar — a construction technique that has withstood centuries of earthquakes and weather.

Today, the ruins of Ollantaytambo Fortress remain a highlight for visitors, offering sweeping views of the valley and a deep connection to the Inca past.
