What to see and do at Red Rock Canyon, Nevada

 Red Rock Canyon in Nevada is filled with large red rock formations and sandstone peaks  

Red Rock Canyon is located 17 miles west of the Las Vegas Strip. It is part of the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area which covers over 195,000 acres of land within the Mojave Desert. The Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area includes a one-way 13-mile scenic drive. The conservation area includes large red rock formations with sandstone peaks and walls called the Keystone Thrust. The walls are up to 3,000 feet high, making them a popular hiking and rock climbing destination. The highest point is La Madre Mountain, at 8,154 feet.

We visited Red Rock Canyon on 12/6/2015 and enjoyed our drive through the park.
