What to see and do in Las Vegas, Nevada

Las Vegas is located in the Mojave Desert and it is one of the world's most visited tourist destinations

It is known as the entertainment capital of the world.  Las Vegas was founded in 1905 and in 1931, Nevada legalized casino gambling. Following World War II, lavishly decorated hotels, gambling casinos, and big-name entertainment became synonymous with Las Vegas.

We have been to Las Vegas numerous times and have stayed at many of the hotels located there including Bally's, Mandalay Bay, MGM, Luxor,  and the Park MGM (Monte Carlo).   Our most recent visit was in December of 2015.  

One of the most famous features of Las Vegas is its many casinos, which offer a wide range of gambling options, including slot machines, poker, blackjack, and roulette. Many of the casinos are located on the Las Vegas Strip, a 4-mile-long stretch of road lined with some of the largest and most famous casinos in the world, including the Bellagio, the Venetian, and the MGM Grand.

Las Vegas is also known for its world-class entertainment, with numerous shows, concerts, and performances taking place throughout the year. Some of the most popular shows include Cirque du Soleil, Blue Man Group, and various musical residencies by famous artists.

Outside of the casinos and entertainment, Las Vegas also offers a range of other attractions, including high-end shopping, fine dining, and outdoor activities like hiking and golfing. The city is also home to numerous museums and cultural institutions, including the Neon Museum, which features historic signs from old Las Vegas casinos.

Overall, Las Vegas is a unique and exciting destination that offers something for everyone, whether you are looking for a relaxing getaway or a high-energy vacation filled with entertainment and excitement.
