What to see and do in San German, Puerto Rico

San Germán is the second-oldest city in Puerto Rico 

San Germán is located in the southwestern part of Puerto Rico, It was officially established in 1573, making it the second-oldest city in Puerto Rico (behind San Juan).  San Germán is known for its rich history and architecture. 

We have visited here several times.  Usually as a quick stop on our way to Rojo Cabo.

 One of the most notable landmarks in San Germán is the Porta Coeli Church and Convent, which was built in the 1609 and is considered one of the oldest churches in the Americas. The church is now a museum and a popular tourist attraction. San Germán is also home to several other historic buildings, including the Casa Morales and the Casa Ramirez de Arellano, which now serve as museums showcasing the town's history and culture.

In addition to its historic attractions, San Germán has several parks and natural areas, including the Bosque Estatal de Susúa, a Caribbean forest that offers hiking trails and camping opportunities. The town is also known for its annual Patron Saint Festival, which takes place in early August and features live music, food, and other festivities.

Overall, San Germán is a charming town with a rich history and cultural heritage, making it a must-visit destination for anyone interested in Puerto Rico's past and present.
