What to see and do in Copenhagen, Denmark

Copenhagen is the capital of Denmark. It is situated on the island of Zealand and it is separated from Sweden by the strait of Øresund.

It was originally a Viking fishing village.  It is known for its historic architecture, beautiful canals, and vibrant cultural scene. The city is home to many iconic landmarks, including the Little Mermaid statue, the Amalienborg Palace, and the Tivoli Gardens amusement park.

On 9/19/2007, we arrived in Copenhagen by air. Then visited the city by bus before leaving by cruise ship from the port to see the rest of Europe.

Copenhagen is also a hub for art and design, with many museums, galleries, and studios showcasing the work of local and international artists. The city is also famous for its food culture, with a wide range of restaurants, cafes, and bars serving traditional Danish cuisine as well as international dishes.

In addition to its rich cultural heritage, Copenhagen is also a leading city in terms of sustainability and environmental protection. It has been recognized as one of the most environmentally friendly cities in the world, with efforts underway to reduce its carbon footprint and promote the use of renewable energy sources.
