What to see and do at Playa Del Carmen, Mexico

Playa del Carmen, Mexico is a coastal resort town along the Yucatán Peninsula's Riviera Maya

The Riviera Maya is a strip of Caribbean shoreline is known for its palm-lined beaches and coral reefs. Quinta Avenida is a pedestrian only street which runs parallel to the beach, with blocks of shops, restaurants and nightspots.

The biggest things to do in Playa Del Carmen are going to the beach, walking 5th Avenue and visiting the local shops, restaurants, and bars. the shopping area on 5th Avenue stretches from the far south end all the way to 40th Street. You can walk right out to the beach from any street in the downtown area.

There are numerous hotels in the downtown area and there arre also several all inclusive resorts in Playacar which are in walking distance from the south end of 5th Avenue. We stayed at the Viva Wyndham Maya in Playacar and enjoyed the resort and its convenient location near downtown Playa Del Carmen.
