Halifax has a rich history, dating back to its founding as a British military and naval base in 1749.

Halifax is the capital city of the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. It is located on the eastern coast of the province, facing the Atlantic Ocean. Today, Halifax is a vibrant and dynamic city, known for its bustling port, rich cultural heritage, and stunning coastal scenery.

On 9/15/2015, we hired a driver who took us on tour of the city and the surrounding countryside which include a visit to the lighthouse at Peggy's Cove. It is one of the most visited places in the area. We had fresh caught lobster for lunch at a local fishing port.

Halifax is home to a number of significant historical sites and landmarks, including the Citadel Hill fortification, the Halifax Public Gardens, and the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. The city is also a hub of arts and culture, with numerous galleries, theaters, and performance venues, as well as a thriving music scene.

In addition to its cultural offerings, Halifax is also known for its stunning natural beauty, with miles of scenic coastline, rolling hills, and beautiful parks and green spaces.
