What to see and do in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada

Charlottetown is the capital city of the Canadian province of Prince Edward Island.

 It is located on the island's southeastern coast and has a population of approximately 34,562 people. The city is known for its well-preserved Victorian-era architecture and is sometimes referred to as the "Birthplace of Confederation," as it was the site of the Charlottetown Conference in 1864, where the initial discussions took place that would eventually lead to the formation of the Dominion of Canada.

We hired a local guide for our visit on 9/15/2015. He gave us a great tour of the island. The island is famous for the house of the Green Gables which was featured in the Anne of Green Gables novels written by Lucy Maud Montgomery.  

Charlottetown is a popular tourist destination, attracting visitors from around the world with its scenic waterfront, charming downtown, and historical sites. The city is home to many museums and cultural attractions, including the Confederation Centre of the Arts, the Province House National Historic Site, and the Founders' Hall, which celebrates the city's role in Canadian Confederation.
