Québec City in Canada is one of the oldest cities in North America, having been founded in 1608 by French explorer Samuel de Champlain

Québec City is the capital of the French speaking Canadian province of Quebec.. The city is located on the Saint Lawrence River and has a rich history, reflecting its colonial heritage and French roots.

On 9/12/2015,  we walked the streets of the old town and then the next day, we took a bus tour to Montmorency Falls which is near the city. We also visited the Basilica of Sainte Anne de Beaupre. Relics of St Anne, who was the mother of Mary are in the church.  It is credited with many miracles of curing the sick and disabled.

Québec City is known for its well-preserved old town, which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. The old town is surrounded by walls and is home to many historic buildings, including the Château Frontenac, a grand hotel that dominates the city's skyline, and the Notre-Dame de Québec Basilica-Cathedral, the oldest church in North America.

The city also boasts many cultural attractions, including museums, theaters, and music venues. Every winter, it hosts the famous Québec Winter Carnival, a festival that features ice sculptures, parades, and other fun activities.

Québec City is also a popular tourist destination for its cuisine, which is heavily influenced by French and Canadian traditions. The city is known for its poutine, a dish made of French fries, cheese curds, and gravy, as well as its tourtière, a meat pie made with various fillings.

In addition to its history, culture, and cuisine, Québec City is also known for its natural beauty. The surrounding countryside offers opportunities for outdoor activities, such as hiking, skiing, and snowboarding.
