What to see and do at Tropical Trails, Isabela, Puerto Rico
Tropical Trails and Shacks Beach are located in Isabela, Puerto Rico
Isabela is located at the northwest tip of Puerto Rico. Located here is Tropical Trails which offers horseback rides on the Caribbean beach down to Survival Beach and back. As a bonus, Shacks Beach is within walking distance of the stables and it is a good spot for snorkeling.
This our favorite place for horseback riding and we have been here several times (including 8/2004 and 10/4/2019). In 2004, we walked across the road and went snorkeling at Shacks Beach after horseback riding. We saw lots of fish and a moray eel. On 3/5/2025, we tried to go snorkeling here again but the surf was high with a strong undertow. So, it was too dangerous to do so.
Tropical Trails is a horseback riding tour company which offers guided trail rides through scenic routes that showcase the natural beauty of the island including a trek along the coastline.
Their tours cater to riders of all experience levels and are conducted in small groups to ensure personalized attention.
