Founded in 1926 by Rafael Larco Hoyle, a pioneering Peruvian archaeologist, the Larco Museum was created to preserve and celebrate Peru’s pre-Columbian heritage. Its vast collection—over 45,000 artifacts—showcases the artistry and ingenuity of cultures such as the Moche, Nazca, Chimú, and Inca.

The museum is celebrated not just for its artifacts but for how it presents them. Every exhibit is beautifully curated, making complex history accessible and engaging for visitors. Clear descriptions, thoughtful layouts, and modern displays make it one of the best museums in Latin America.
