What to see and do in Pisa, Italy

Pisa is most famous for the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa, which is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world. 

Pisa is a city located in Tuscany, central Italy, on the right bank of the Arno River. The Leaning Tower of Pisa is184 ft tall tower and was completed in 1372. It was originally intended to be a bell tower for the nearby cathedral. However, it began to tilt during construction in the 12th century and has since become one of Italy's biggest tourist attractions.

On 10/3/2007, we arrived here by bus after visiting Florence. We walked around the city and visited the Leaning Tower.

Aside from the Leaning Tower, Pisa is also home to several other historic landmarks, including the Pisa Cathedral, the Battistero (Baptistry), and the Camposanto (cemetery). These buildings, along with the tower, make up the Piazza dei Miracoli (Square of Miracles), which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Pisa has a rich history and was once a maritime republic in the Middle Ages. Today, it's a bustling university town with a vibrant student population, as well as a popular tourist destination. It's also known for its stunning Gothic architecture, delicious cuisine, and beautiful parks and gardens.
