What to see and do at Playa Escondida, Puerto Rico
Playa Escondida (Hidden Beach) is one of the prettiest beaches in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean
It is definitely a hidden beach. To reach Playa Escondida, you'll need to hike for about 20 minutes from the west end of Seven Seas Beach through a mangrove forest to reach the beach.
We visited the Playa Esconcida beach on 9/3/2022. From the northwest end of the Seven Seas Beach, we followed the trail through the mangroves and stopped briefly at Playa Colora which is located on the same trail. Once we reached the Playa Escondida beach, we went swimming and snorkeled in the crystal clear water. The east end of the beach is rocky and a great fish to see fish.
The beach at Playa Escondida is in a very remote location, which gives it a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Visitors can snorkel or swim in the clear waters of the Atlantic Ocean, relax on the beach, and take in the great views of the El Yunque rainforest and the adjacent beaches to the west.
Playa Escondida does not have any amenities, so visitors should come prepared with everything they need for a day at the beach, including food, water, and sunscreen. The lack of amenities adds to natural and unspoiled beauty of the beach.
Overall, Playa Escondida is a secluded and picturesque beach in Puerto Rico that offers visitors a chance to escape the crowds and enjoy a peaceful day in nature. However, the Atlantic waters can be dangerous here at certain times of the year. So be cautious when you enter the water.

As you go down the trail there is a sign directing you to turn right to the Playa Escondida beach.
Further down the trail is a sign for Playa Colora. Continue going straight to reach Playa Escondida.

Once you reach the beach, you will see a rocky area to the right which is a good place to snorkel. The water is very clear here.
To the left is a natural road that goes from the shore into the water and ends there.
Continuing to the west, you will reach a point with great views towards Luquillo and El Yunque. Beyond the point are the Finca el Convento and then Governor’s beach.
