
What to see and do at Playa Grande, Costa Rica
Playa Grande is a beautiful beach located on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica
It is located in the Guanacaste province and is known for its sea turtles and for its long stretch of golden sand, clear blue waters, and excellent surfing conditions.
We visited Playa Grande on 8/23/2016 and enjoyed walking on the beach here.
Leatherback turtles are the main draw for visitors to Las Baulas National Park. The endangered leatherback sea turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. This area supports the largest nesting colony of leatherback sea turtles on the Pacific coast of the Americas.
The beach is surrounded by a lush forest, which is home to various wildlife species. Playa Grande is a popular tourist destination, with a range of activities available, including surfing, swimming, hiking, and wildlife watching.
