The Road to Hana is a famous scenic drive on the island of Maui in Hawaii.

The drive is famous for its winding, narrow road that hugs the coastline and offers breathtaking views of the ocean, waterfalls, and lush vegetation. The road is very narrow and not an easy to navigate. It has 617 curves and 59 single car bridges winding through the rugged rainforest landscape of East Maui.

Once you reach Hana, you must then turn around and return by the same route.  Popular stops on the route include the Zero-mile marker, Twin Falls, Huelo Lookout, Rainbow Eucalyptus trees, Waikamoi Trailhead, Haipuaena Falls, Nuyeniee Falls, Kaumahina State Park, Honomanu Bay Lookout, KeAnae Point,  Waikani Valley State Park, Waikani Falls, PuaaKaa State Park, Hanawi Falls, Makapipi Falls, Hanawi Falls, Makapipi Falls, and Waianapanapa State Park with its black beach.

We took a tour bus on 12/17/2023 which drove us from Kahului to Hana and back. We stopped at many of the places listed above.  We then stopped and had a boxed lunch at the black beach before finishing the trip to Hana and then returning to Hahului.
