Dunmore East is a picturesque fishing village located on the west side of Waterford Harbor on Ireland's southeastern coast.

It is situated at the mouth of Waterford Harbour and is surrounded by stunning cliffs and panoramic sea views. The village was mentioned as being a fishing port in 1745. It sits above the harbor on 130 ft cliffs.

We visited Dunmore East on 6/17/2022. While there, we walked through the town and took a path down the cliff to the beach at Kittiwake's rock. In the park, we met some of the local youth who were playing the ancient Gaelic game of Hurling.  They explained the sport to us.  We had lunch at  a local fish and chips restaurant near the harbor.

Dunmore East has a long history as a fishing port, and it still has an active fishing industry today, with a bustling harbor and a fish market. The village has a relaxed and laid-back atmosphere, and is a popular destination for visitors looking to enjoy the natural beauty of the area.

One of the main attractions in Dunmore East is its beautiful beaches, including the sheltered cove of Counsellor's Strand and the sandy beach of Lawlor's Beach. The village also has a number of excellent seafood restaurants and pubs, where visitors can sample the fresh catch of the day.
