What to see and do in Fez, Morocco

Fez, in Morocco, is famous for its well-preserved medieval architecture, including its historic medina, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It is a city in Morocco, located in the northern part of the country. Fez is also one of the oldest cities in the world, with a history that dates back over a thousand years. Fez is one of the four imperial cities of Morocco, and is considered one of the most important cultural and spiritual centers of the country. 

We visited Fez on  5/7/2014. It's large media is full of shops, restaurants, and shops selling its leather goods.  There is an large leather tannery in the middle of the marketplace.  Some of the leather shops have balconies which overlook the tannery. They give you a sprig of mint to hold to your nose so that you can tolerate the smell.

Fez is also known for its leather industry, and the city is famous for its leather goods, including fezzes (the traditional headwear from which the city takes its name). The city is also renowned for its crafts, including ceramics, metalwork, and textiles.
