Ifrane is often referred to as Morocco's "Little Switzerland" due to its mountainous landscape and European-style architecture.

Ifrane is a city in the Middle Atlas region of Morocco. It is known for its clean air, cool climate, and scenic views, making it a popular tourist destination.

When we visited on 4/14/2012, the mountains were covered in snow and people were snow skiing and sledding. Two years later, when we visited from 5/6 to 5/8/2014, we were in shorts and went horseback riding thru the forest.

Ifrane is located at an altitude of 5,460 feet above sea level and is surrounded by forests, lakes, and rivers, providing ample opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, and snow skiing. The city also has a number of historic sites and cultural attractions, including the Al Akhawayn University, the oldest private English-language university in Morocco, and the Ifrane National Park, which is home to a variety of wildlife, including Barbary macaques, the only monkeys found in the Atlas Mountains.

In addition to its natural beauty, Ifrane is also known for its vibrant cultural scene, with a number of festivals and events taking place throughout the year, including the International Film Festival of Ifrane, the Atlas Jazz Festival, and the Ifrane Festival of Popular Arts.
