Lisbon, Portugal is one of the oldest cities in the world, and the second-oldest European capital city (after Athens)

Lisbon is the capital and largest city of Portugal, located on the west coast of the country along the Atlantic Ocean. The yellow electric trams were originally imported from the US in 1901 and are called the americanos. Belém is famous as the place from which many of the great Portuguese explorers set off on their voyages of discovery. The Belém tower was built as a fortified lighthouse in 1520 to guard the entrance to the port.

On 9/26/2007, we toured the city by bus and then walked the downtown area. There is a great view of the city from the elevator de Santa Justa

and it is a nice place to have a snack and drinks.
