Mahogany Bay is a popular cruise ship port of call for tourists visiting Roatan, Honduras

Mahogany Bay is a port area located on the island of Roatan, which is part of the Bay Islands in Honduras. There are two cruise ship ports in Roatan. One is located in Coxen Hole and the other located in Mahogany Bay. On our first trip here on 3/28/2018 , we docked in Mahogany Bay which is located on the southern coastline of Roatan. While there, we visited the beach and shops. We also took an excursion to the Mayan Eden animal park.

The Mahogany Bay port is owned and in large part operated by Carnival Corporation. The port features a 20-acre shopping and entertainment complex with a variety of retail shops, restaurants, bars, and a beach.

Disembarking the ship will lead you to Mahogany Bay's main shopping area. From there, you can either walk or take the chairlift to the main restaurants and the beach. There is also a chairlift that takes visitors from the port area to Mahogany Beach, which is a beautiful white-sand beach with crystal clear waters.

Mahogany Bay is also known for its excellent snorkeling and diving opportunities. The nearby reef is home to a wide variety of marine life, including colorful fish, sea turtles, and even the occasional dolphin. Visitors can take a snorkeling or diving excursion to explore the reef and its inhabitants.

In addition to water-based activities, there are also cultural and historical attractions in the area, including the nearby town of French Harbour, which is known for its fishing industry and seafood restaurants. Visitors can also take a tour of the island to learn about its history and culture, or visit one of the many nature reserves and wildlife sanctuaries on the island.
