What to see and do in El Cedral, Cozumel, Mexico
El Cedral is the oldest Mayan Ruins on Cozumel Island in Mexico
The ruins date back to 800 AD. The Mayan village located here was once the capital of Cozumel. It is located in the jungle on the southwest part of the island. There are small shops located here.
A tour company here offers horse back riding, UTV, and ATV trips through the jungle to Cenote Chempita which is home to thousands of bats.
While visiting Cozumel, we took the UTV trip to the cenote.
Overall, El Cedral is an important destination for anyone interested in Mexican history and culture, as well as for those seeking natural beauty and adventure .
