Estancia San Guillemo in Argentina is one of the many sheep ranches in this part of Patagonia

Estancia San Guillermo is a 6,700 acre sheep ranch located 10 miles from Puerto Madryn and 5 miles from the coast of Golfo Nuevo. This part of Patagonia is very arid and only receives 6 to 8 inches of rainfall per year.

Estancia San Guillermo is a popular destination for tour groups to see one of the many ranches in this part of Patagonia. Visitors are welcomed with a light lunch and then treated to a demonstration of sheep shearing. A gift shop offers items made from the sheep wool. A small artifact exhibit is located near the gift shop.

We visited Estancia San Guillermo on 1/24/2024. While there we had lunch and watched the sheep shearing demonstration. In addition to the sheep, we saw horses, goats, sheep dogs, and chickens.
