What to see and do in George Town, Cayman Islands

The Cayman Islands is a British Overseas Territory which consists of three islands: Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, and Little Cayman. 

The Cayman Islands are located in the western Caribbean Sea. The capital of the Cayman Islands is George Town, located on Grand Cayman.

We visited the Cayman Islands on 05/10/2004. We traveled by boat out to Stingray City which is a shallow sandbar across the mouth of the bay.  Here you can snorkel and swim with the stingrays.

The Cayman Islands are known for their clear turquoise waters and coral reefs, making them a popular destination for snorkeling, diving, and other water-based activities. The islands are also home to several species of indigenous wildlife, including the blue iguana.

The economy of the Cayman Islands is largely based on tourism, as well as financial services. The country has a well-developed banking sector and is considered one of the world's largest offshore financial centers.

The population of the Cayman Islands is diverse, with a mix of Caymanian, Jamaican, and expatriate residents. English is the official language, and the local currency is the Cayman Islands dollar.

In terms of culture, the Cayman Islands have a rich history, with influences from Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean. The islands are known for their traditional music, dance, and culinary arts, including seafood dishes and jerk seasoning.
