What to see and do at Kauai Coffee, Kauai, Hawaii
Kauai Coffee in Hawaii is the largest coffee farm in the United States
With 4 million coffee trees grown on 3,100 acres, the Kauai Coffee Estate is the largest coffee farm in the United States. It is located on the southern coast of the island of Kauai in Hawaii. Kauai Coffee began in the early 1800s as McBryde Sugar Company which was one of the first sugar farmers in Hawaii. The transformation from McBryde Sugar Company to Kauai Coffee began in 1987 and now Kauai Coffee’s annual harvest exceeds the volume of coffee produced by the entire Kona region. Kauai Coffee is the sole producer of more than half of the coffee grown in the United States.
We visited the Kauai Coffee Estate on 12/22/2023. We toured the estate and sampled the coffee.
Kauai Coffee offers free walking tours. Here you can learn all about how the coffee is grown, harvested and roasted. From the visitor center, you can sample the coffee and visit the gift shop. The porch of the gift shop provides panoramic views of the plantation and it's coffee trees that extend from the visitor center down to the Pacific Ocean.
