What to see and do at the North Shore, Kauai, Hawaii

The North Shore of Kauai, Hawaii is full of rugged mountains, beaches and spectacular sea cliffs. 

Kawaikini is the highest peak on the island of Kauai and it is known as the wettest spot-on earth. On its slopes are the Halelea Forest Reserve and the Lihue-Koloa Forest Reserve which are home to thousands of amazing waterfalls. ​

Much of the area inaccessible unless you hike in or take an air or boat tour.  Princeville, Hanalei, and Wainiha are the major beach towns on the coast.

On 12/21/2023, we took a helicopter tour of the island with Safari Helicopters.  The tour took us to Jurassic Falls, Waimea Canyon, the Na Pali Coast, and then along the North Shore to the Halelea Forest Reserve and the Lihue-Koloa Forest Reserve and Kawaikini peak.
