Rio Grande in Puerto Rico is often called "La Ciudad del Yunque"

Rio Grande is located on the northeast coast of the island of Puerto Rico. It was founded in 1840 and is located where the Río Grande and the Río Espíritu Santo join. It is known for the El Yunque rainforest, its lavish hotels, championship golf courses, iconic restaurants, and its many beaches. The most well known Caribbean beaches are Coco Beach, Bahia Beach, and Luquillo.

This is our favorite place to stay in Puerto Rico. We have been coming here for over 20 years.

One of the main attractions of the area is El Yunque National Forest, which is the only tropical rainforest in the United States National Forest system. Visitors to the area can hike through the forest, swim in waterfalls, and enjoy stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
